Abstract

We present the case of a male six-year-old child presenting pneumonia by staphylococcus epidermidis complicated with empyema, tension pneumothorax and parenchymatous bullas secondary to the left femur osteomyelitis. The patient was treated with vancomicine and clindamicine, evolving satisfactorily. We review the literature on infections by Staphylococus Epidermidis, germen that has been getting an increasing importance in the etiology of the intrahospital infections.
