In spite of the notable increase of the quantity of persons infected with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus across the world, it is still difficult to determine the infection rate among elder people, because of routine studies are indicated to few patients of this age group, resulting in late diagnosis, and negatively reflecting in the evolution of these patients. We state that Geriatric AIDS is that occurring in 60 or more years old people, representing almost 2-5 %. Clinical manifestations are similar to those of the young patients, showing a good answer to the precocious use of the antiretroviral drugs, and being the precocious diagnosis the key of the success in the evolution of these patients.Downloads
