Abstract

With the purpose of achieving an adequate health promotion, we tried to bring near the Primary Health Attention the medical care of the elder patients who have suffered a hip fracture, to achieve a faster diagnosis, helping their remission in better conditions to a hospital where they could receive a specialized care, because these patients have other co-morbidities that may be decompensated with this event. With these premises we decided to prepare an easy-handled folding for the staff of the primary care attention, with current criteria, definitions, epidemiologic criteria, risk facts, diagnostic, prevention forms, treatment, possible complications and rehabilitation, considering that when these patients' care is better, a higher life expectancy is achieved.
