In our country the teaching of the nursing discipline goes back since the year of 1899. The road traveled from that time our days for our nursing personnel has been arduous, with the zeal to achieve a professional of excellence having a solid scientific and technical education. The influence exercised by Florence Nightingales postulates for such purposes has been trusty beneficial.
In view of the fact that in the professional formation is something outstanding, a biographical revision was carried out, which resulted in guide to demonstrate that the postulates of Miss Nightingale have influenced in the current formation of Cuban Nursing graduates, such as importance in health education, the improvement of a pleasant environment, the constant observation of the different health problems, the ethical behaviors continuance toward the patient, the need to offer excellent home services, and the fulfillment of organizational and administration activities, in addition to the indispensable scientific investigations for the science development.
