Abstract

The adolescence is a decisive stage for an educative intervention, with the aim of giving persons the information and tools helping them in taking healthy decisions, for them to become health promoters in their schools and community. Although the curriculum in the different school levels includes contents referred to promotion and health education, recent researches corroborate that the sanitary health of the adolescent is not satisfactory. We carried out the current review with the objective of systematizing the theoretical referents supporting the importance of the education for an integral adolescent's health through paired promoters. The health education is an indispensable tool in the task of prevention and health promotion to modify knowledge, attitudes and life styles in highly concerning themes, according to the main identified problems and in correspondence with the educative necessities of the vulnerable groups. The educative intervention in teenagers, when there is not still a consolidation of the behavioural traits, the role and the risks, favouring the desired changes to reach and preserve an integral and sustainable health, is even more feasible if involving paired promoters, previously prepared.
