Dr. Joaquín Albarrán, a dignified Cuban citizen

Abstract

With the objective of rescuing, for the students of Medicine and for many already graduated physicians, the figure of the biggest Cuban urologist, and one of the biggest in the history of the urology around the world, we made this work exposing some of the facets of Joaquín María Albarrán y Domínguez's life', from his birth to his tragic and premature death. We give evidences of the scientific work and the moral values of this eminent Cuban physician, who was born in Sagua la Grande and whose adolescence and formation took place in Spain and France; in the last country he received a solid academic formation, successfully worked and died. We draw attention to his firm conviction of Cuban citizen, who always kept in his heart his beloved homeland. We expose a brief gallery of images and his most relevant scientific works.
