Keywords:

We made a historical review of the Medico Pharmaceutical Center of Cardenas, founded in 1882 by Dr. Dionisio José Sáez, its first president. This center was the first one in Cuba with such characteristics. We outlined the development of the Medico Pharmaceutical College, its main contributions to Cuban medicine, its founders and members, and also its conversion, in 1926, in the Medical College of Cardenas, considered too as a medical first-fruit in Cuba. Recognizing the important role played by the Medical College of Cardenas in the history of the medicine in Cuba was our objective, as soon as briefly citing the main members of the Medical College during the colonial, neocolonial periods and after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.Downloads
