Dr. Gabriel Casuso Roque is not only the beginner of the Cuban Gynecology and Obstetrics, branches to which he made important contributions, especially in the case of the puerperal infections, but he also contributed to the development of the surgery in our country, energetically diffusing and divulging scientific antiseptic and aseptic precepts. We expose the main events of his life and work, since he was a young mambi (Cuban independent fighter against Spain), his graduation in Madrid and Paris, to his daily activity as surgeon, gynecologist and obstetrician, his intense academic life and, at the end, his work as Dean and Rector of the University of Havana.Downloads
